Mount Elgon is an extinct volcano on the border of Uganda and Kenya. An extinct volcano means the mountain used to erupt very hot liquid to the surface, but it doesn’t do that anymore. Mount Elgon’s highest point, named "Wagagai", is located in Uganda, Bududa district.
Mount Elgon has a large crater lake. A crater lake is a round lake at the top of a volcano. Many people come to see this crater lake. Another fun activity to do at Mount Elgon is bird watching.
